We began the morning with a little bit of cultural aptitude—Chhavi wore a stunning kimono, and I draped myself in a sari. All dressed up, we walked as much as Nishiki Market, only a quick distance from our lodge, and took some pictures to seize the allure of Kyoto’s streets. It felt like a mild merging of our heritage with the place we had been visiting, one thing we each loved deeply.
