SkirtsAfire Competition started (as so many good concepts do) with purple wine, popcorn, and a few good girls! The competition was created to deal with the gender inequity that ladies artists have been experiencing within the theatre group and bigger multidisciplinary arts communities, from lack of roles for girls to a disparity inside management positions. SkirtsAfire was constructed to create alternatives for girls within the arts and to focus on the variety of their tales. Together with Worldwide Ladies’s Day, this 12 months’s 11-day programming options a wide selection of passionate, transformative, and interesting women-led performances, workshops, and reveals.
